Würzburg, August 25th 2009. Infosim, provider of next-generation service assurance software, announces that all of its products will ship with support for IPv6 by default.

IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6), the next-generation protocol designed by the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force), will gradually replace the current version of the Internet Protocol, IPv4. "IPv6 still counts for only about one percent of addresses and traffic in the publicly-accessible Internet which is still dominated by IPv4" explains Marius Heuler, Chief Software Architect at Infosim, and continues "But this will change during the next years. IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) estimates to run out of IPv4 addresses by March 2012".

With releases 5.2 of StableNet Telco and StableNet Enterprise, users have an integrated service assurance solution that will provide them with fault management and performance management capabilities in mixed IPv4 and IPv6 environments. This helps organizations with the adoption of and the transition to IPv6 by making the management of such networks seamless. While StableNet itself is fully IPv6 compliant, it also provides support for IPv6 versions of protocols such as SNMP polling, SNMP Traps, Syslog or Netflow.

Dr. Stefan Koehler, Managing Director of Infosim, explains: "We are adding IPv6 capabilities to all our products and we add them to the core solution packages so every user can benefit from it". Existing users with support contracts can upgrade to latest versions free of charge.
